I started working
out at the Center in an effort to avoid back surgery by
strengthening my back and abdominal muscles. When I
asked my orthopedic surgeon about working with a personal
trainer, he recommended the Center because, he said, "they
really know what they are doing and do not take unnecessary
risks." Since then, from my twice-weekly workouts, I
have succeeded in avoiding further back problems.
Beyond that, my
body is in the best shape it's ever been in.
I feel great physically and otherwise, and I look great too!

The
Center for Health Promotion
is special. My exercise specialist has a definite fitness plan for me, and he
has kept me injury-free:
he stresses the form and safety of exercise, which I couldn't do
on my own. He keeps me motivated, changing the routine to make it
interesting. The results have been great. Besides strength and endurance,
I eat more and weigh less. A recent bone density test showed that
my bone density actually increased since I started working
out. In addition, my HDL cholesterol level (the good cholesterol)
has gone way up. Finally, I have a very stressful job, and working
out at the Center has really helped reduce anxiety and boost energy.

Physicians
need to serve as role models, but it was hard for me to counsel
patients on making that commitment to better eating and regular
exercise before I started working out regularly myself. Then, I
reached a point where I had five sizes in my closet, and I wanted
something better for myself. After six months of working out at
the
Center for Health Promotion
, I noticed I felt trimmer. I had
more energy, and my back wasnít as bad, even after being up all
night in the delivery room. I have gotten into eating better, and
I have lost weight. The

wants everybody
to succeed. They take that extra step.

Steve Zelicoff is the most effective and intelligent person in
the business. After my back surgery, Steve has been helping me
to recover muscle mass. He is a great motivator. He talks me through the workout
and is supportive all the way. As a result, I am inspired to do
as much as I possibly can. At the same time, Steve knows my needs
and physical limitations, and he regulates the workout so that I'll
get where I need to go, but at a reasonable pace that is best for
me. The atmosphere at the
Center for Health Promotion
is pleasant
as well. The staff works hard to make me comfortable, playing the
music I like. The time flies by so quickly I am unaware that a full
hour has gone by. Not only do I enjoy my workout, I have a great
sense of accomplishment. I feel in better shape than I have in years.
